How did you end up in Nelspruit Dr. Marli Eloff?

Dr. Marli Eloff started her practice in the city of Mbombela after completing her medical training and residency. Here is her story…

I was born in Springs, Gauteng. I was there throughout my whole schooling career. Started at Klop-kloppie Kleuterskool went on to Laerskool Jan van Riebeeck and ended at Hoërskool Hugenote. I then stayed in Pretoria while studying MBCHB at University of Pretoria. Nelspruit was my THIRD option for an internship. I ended up getting it at Rob Ferreira Hospital, and I stayed on for Community Service in the Gynaecology and Obstetrics department for a year. I completed my diploma in Obstetrics in 2021.

I am currently busy studying towards becoming a SACLC (South African Certified Lactation Consultant).

World Prematurity Day

Today is World Prematurity Day; it is observed on November 17 each year to raise awareness of preterm birth and the concerns of preterm babies and their families worldwide. Approximately 15 million babies are born preterm each year, accounting for about one in 10 of all babies born worldwide. Preterm birth can lead to long-term health issues for babies, so it is crucial to support research and initiatives that aim to improve outcomes for preterm infants. By coming together on World Prematurity Day, we can advocate for better healthcare policies and resources to ensure that every baby has the best possible start in life.
