Dr. Marlene Henzen started her practice in the city of Mbombela after completing her medical training and residency. Here is her story…

I was born in Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa. I attended multiple kindergartens as a child, and I can't remember their names. During primary school I was at Laerskool Lynnwood and at Hoerskool Menlopark during high school. To become a medical doctor, I studied MBCHB at the University of Pretoria and also finished an HIV diploma in 2021. I worked in East London at Frere Hospital for 2 years (2018 and 2019) for my internship. In 2020 I was placed in Kimberley at RMS Hospital for my Zuma year. I stayed on after my Zuma year for another year in Kimberley as one of the seniors in the internal medicine department. I met my husband in Kimberley, and in 2022 we decided to move to Nelspruit to settle here and start a family.

Dr. Marlene Henzen's specialisation in internal and family medicine makes her well-equipped to provide comprehensive care to patients with a wide range of medical needs. The United Nations General Assembly has designated November 25 as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. This day aims to raise awareness about the prevalence of violence against women worldwide and to call for action to end this human rights violation. It serves as a reminder of the importance of promoting gender equality and creating a world where all women can live free from violence and discrimination.

25 November to 10 December is 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children. During this time, it is crucial for communities to come together and advocate for the rights of women and children, raising awareness and taking action against gender-based violence. By standing united in this cause, we can make a meaningful impact in creating a safer and more equitable world for all.

We need to set an example and raise a new generation of individuals who respect and value women and who are committed to creating a society where violence against women is no longer tolerated. By educating and empowering both men and women, we can work towards a future where violence against women and children is eradicated.

We are dedicated to providing personalised care and building lasting relationships with our patients. Contact us today to experience the difference at Steiltes Family Practice. Feel free to reach out to us for any enquiries or to schedule your consultation.
